Dear Murray,

We had a wonderful time at your beautiful house. We fished off the beach everyday, snorkeled off the many reefs (especially the one named after you), beach combed for miles and took a day trip with Dolphus Arthur to North Caicos. We found Dolphus to be quite capable and very friendly.

We quickly learned how to deal with the mosquitoes and the short bursts of daily rains that came from the edge of Hurricane Bonnie. All of the local people were extremely helpful and kind- and after a little prodding became quite talkative. We rented a truck from Ed Bennett and toured the entire island, especially the new road to Half Creek.

We've never seen so many lobsters. Dolphus traded us two big lobster tails and a big grouper for our portable beach chairs. And, yes, we caught grunt, yellowtail snapper and trunkfish (the one without the horns) on several days. But the big thrill was just snorkeling with the lobster and other fish which we saw on the reef.

You have certainly done a beautiful job with the local decorations and photographs inside, the landscaping, the tiki hut, the well equipped kitchen - all the conveniences of home. The small stores, Annie Taylor's and Arthur's in Conch Bar, came in handy.

I even found a note from an Italian naval officer in a bottle, several canteens and a treasured glass ball on Half Creek Beach after the hurricane. We spent every morning and night out there just enjoying the quiet.

Old Mrs. Forbes and Brittany brought us baskets and quite a bit of Caicos lore and entertainment. "You can sleep in the middle of the road and the only thing that will bother you is maybe a crab and probably a mosquito." Thanks for sharing your house with us. I wish I knew more people who might enjoy that particular kind or R&R but we're considered the odd ones.

Thanks, Laurie and Mike Mazzoli
